Dr. George William Wegmann (88) passed away peacefully on November 23, 2017 in Green Cove Springs, Florida after an extended illness. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Norbert and Grace Wegmann on July 4, 1929. He is survived by his wife of 44 years (Terri) and six children, William Robert Wegmann (Debbie), Ann Wegmann, Kathy Wegmann, Peter Wegmann (Michele), John Wegmann, George William Wegmann, Jr, (Donna), and four grandchildren, Billy Paul (Sarah), Jessica (Michael), Kimberly and David and 4 great grandchildren, Abby, Evan, Ella and Aidan. After graduating from Marquette Dental School he honorably served in the Navy on the John Hancock as a Dentist. After leaving the Navy he practiced in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He sold his practice in 1984 and moved to California where he worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as their dental director. He retired in 1997 and moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida to play golf and travel. He treasured the times he spent with his family and was so proud of all of his children. He will be missed by so many people but know that he is finally resting in peace. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 7190 Highway 17 South, Fleming Island, Florida with Fr. Michael Pendergraft as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in his name to the St. Jude Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
