Dr. Richard Leon Wehrman

Dr. Richard Leon Wehrman was born on January 20, 1930, on the family farm in Lexington, Missouri. He was a university graduate of agriculture, attended three seminaries and had advanced degrees in adult education and missions. Richard and Eva, his wife, served as missionaries in seven different provinces in the Philippines from 1955 – 1995 (40 years). They were involved in evangelism, community development, stewardship, recruitment and training church workers, development of Christian education curriculum, mission to ethnic groups and theological education. From 1995 until his death, Richard served churches in Oklahoma and was involved in urban missions in Oklahoma and Florida.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Karen Graves (Charlie) and Esther Otero (Carlos); grandchildren, Christina Lane (Gabe), Janina Graves (Moisés), Stefanie Otero, Emily Otero and David Otero; great-grandchildren, Luke, Peter, Camilo, Adelina and Oliver.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Penney Memorial Chapel.
