Dr. William M. Stahl was taken home peacefully by our Lord on November 14, 2018 at Penney Retirement Community, Penney Farms, Fl.
William was born on April 6, 1928, in Endicott NY, to Raymond and Margaret (Crawford) Stahl. He received his Bachelors in Divinity from Eastern Baptist Seminary in 1956, and his Doctorate in 1977. On June 6, 1950, he married the love of his life, Romayne (Fowler).
“Pastor Bill”, as he was known to his congregations, served over 70 years in houses of worship across the country; Windsor Baptist Church, Uwchland, PA; Community Baptist Church, Greene, NY; Port Dickinson Baptist Church, Binghamton, NY; Hatboro Baptist Church, Hatboro, PA; First Baptist Church, Plymouth, MI; Community Baptist Church, St. Helen, MI; First Baptist Church of Des Moines, IA (Chaplain for a housing program for retirees). Bill and Romayne retired to Penney Retirement Community, FL in 1996 where Bill’s contribution and commitment to the community included; Chair of the Commemorative Programs Committee, PMC Choir and Men’s Ensemble, former Town Council Member and former Mayor of Penney Farms. Bill and Romayne, in their leisure, hosted many tours to Israel, Germany, England and Ireland.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, mother, Margaret and brother, Crawford. He is survived by his wife, Romayne, three children, Judith Foley, W. Randall Stahl (Sandra) and Sylvia Stahl, grandchildren Melissa Groden (Rob); Jesse, Trina, and Laura Coble, and greatgrandchildren Anastasia Groden; Junior, Abigail, David, Abel, Nathaniel Jr., Evan, Gabriel & Jayden Coble.
A service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Service of William Marvin Stahl will be held December 15, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at Penney Memorial Church, Penney Farms, FL.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude and appreciation for all your support and kindness received during this difficult time in their lives. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Penney Memorial Resident’s Aid Fund: PO Box 555, Penney Farms, FL 32079.
