Edward E. Harper

Ed passed away August 14, 2019 in the Moosehaven Health Care Center at the age of 83. He was born to John and Hazel Harper on March 11, 1936 in Elgin, Illinois. After graduating school, Ed met Janice Ostrander and they were married on March 27, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois. Together they had eight children, Jeffery, Deanna, Steven, Timothy, Philip, Jay, Beth and Janel. Ed worked as a book binder with Bata Graphics. He and Janice divorced in 1981. Later, Ed married Barbara Cornele on September 28, 1984 and settled in Plano, Illinois. He retired after 40 years with Bata Graphics. Ed was preceded in death by four of his five sons, Jeffery, Steven, Timothy, and Jay. His wife, Barbara preceded him in death on October 26, 2013 after 29 years of marriage. Ed became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on March 31, 1978 when he joined the Aurora Illinois Lodge #400. He received his Fellowship degree on June 01, 1983 and received his Pilgrim Degree of Merit on May 27, 2000. Ed was a past Governor and a member of the 25 Club, sponsoring 67 members in the Loyal Order of Moose. Ed came to Moosehaven on October 14, 2014 where he resided for over 4 years. He is survived by his children Deanna Seiler of Tampa, FL., Philip Harper of Somonaulk, IL., Beth Carlson, of DeKalb, IL., and Janel Betsinger of Montgomery, IL.
