Edwin Sherwood Gustafson, Jr.

Edwin Sherwood Gustafson, Jr., 77, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born on July 20, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL to Ed and Grace Gustafson. He was raised in Green Cove Springs, FL and a former employee at his family's dairy until he became President and CEO of Gustafson's Family Enterprises. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Myrtice Tanner Gustafson, where they shared 57 years of marriage together. Sherwood was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseman, and cattleman. He enjoyed making memories with his family and friends in the outdoors along with riding horses and attending team ropings. He was an accomplished Team Roper whose love for horses led to many lifelong friendships. Throughout his years, Sherwood enjoyed raising roping steers and beef cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Myrtice Tanner Gustafson; daughter, Sheryl Gustafson; son, Edwin Gustafson, III; daughter, Gina Gustafson Harris (Roger); sister, Gail Gustafson Wagner; nephew, Gary Louis Wagner, Jr. (Tammy); nephew, Christopher John Wagner; 11 grandchildren, Waylon Wade Woods, William Baird-Tanner Woods, Ethan Shane Woods, Edwin Sherwood Gustafson, IV, Aaron Gregory James Harris, Julia Grace Gustafson, Rachael Agnes Gustafson Davenport (James), Victoria Gracelyn Greenway, Rebecca Elizabeth Harris, Christina Tommie Salazar, Thomas Luke Salazar, Jr.; 5 great-grandchildren, Laney Wade Woods, Weston Wade Woods, Olivia Jane Woods, Michael James Davenport, and Loretta Lyn Woods.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Russell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Russell Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Hall and Pastor Craig Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
