ERNEST MORRIS MAY, JR (1945-2022)

Ernie May, 76, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

He was born to the late Ernest and Vernis (Umland) May on November 26, 1945 in Oakland, California.

Ernie graduated from Escambia High School, served in the US Army and was married to Brenda (Gambill) May in 1968.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing and woodworking.

Ernie is preceded in death by his sister Donna Dianne May, and brother Glen Helton.

He is survived by wife Brenda (Gambill) May, sister Debra Deniese Brewer, his children, Terri May Stanley, Gina Fletcher (David), and David May (Silverly); 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the family home.

A graveside service at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors rendered will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association.
