Ethel “June” Kraus went to her Heavenly home April 24, 2020 in Orange Park, Florida after a brief illness.
June was born to Stokley and Ethel Isabel Saylor June 19, 1926 in Auxvasse Missouri, the youngest of four siblings. She was united in marriage to Edmond Kraus, February 16, 1947 in Prescott Arizona.
She was a graduate of Mexico High School and Capitol City Business School. At the beginning of World War II June and her sister Letta were employed by Boeing Aircraft in Renton Washington, assembling fuselage sections for B-17’s and B-29’s. She was employed by the Missouri Department of revenue from 1958 until 1964 and The Missouri Department of Transportation from 1964 until her retirement in 1987 as a senior information systems data verifier.
June and Eddie were diehard St Louis Cardinal fans for over 50 years, never complaining about a loss but always second guessing the pitching changes. She was a fifty-year member of Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson City and later after moving to Fleming Island Florida became a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church.
She loved being outside and she spent her later years gardening. She could grow anything: tomatoes, summer squash, peppers, cucumbers and string beans to name a few.
June will be remembered as a strong woman with a quick wit, faithful servant of our Lord, loving wife, nurturing mother and doting grandma/great grandma.
June was preceded in death by her husband Eddie, her siblings: Lydia Crawford (Ralph), Letta Bryson (Wayne), Eugene (Sonny) Saylor (Nellie), and her beloved sister in law Lydia Irwin.
She is survived by her son Ron (Debbie) of Fleming Island FL, her grandsons: Ben (Lindsey) of Jacksonville FL, Nathan (Melissa) of Middleburg FL, Daniel of Philadelphia, PA and her only granddaughter Kathryn of Fleming Island, FL. Great grandchildren: Elijah, Saylor, Abram and little Ari; as well as loving nieces and nephews all over this country.
Internment in Russellville Missouri and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Peter's Lutheran Church general fund, Middleburg FL.
