Floyd Neal Knutsen

September 24, 1951 — June 28, 2023

Cuzzin' Floyd N. Knutsen,71, beloved and only son of Winston and Donnagene Knutsen, was born on September 24, 1951, and took his last bike to go home to his Lord and Savior, parents, and family on June 28, 2023.

He dearly loved pedaling his bike all over Clay County, probably logging enough miles in his stay on the 3rd rock to travel the equator numerous times around the globe, wearing out numerous bikes, despite 2 bladder cancer surgeries and a urinary stoma bag in tow.

Floyd also dearly loved his FSU Seminoles, overseeing City Council and county commission meetings, keeping tabs on the world-famous Clay County Fair happenings along with any funerals occurring within biking range.

Before the advent of cellular devices, the most efficient forms of communication were telephone, telegraph, and “Tell-a-Floyd”.  He hedged his eternal destination getting Baptized in numerous local churches, so long as they were full submersion style. Floyd was also devoted to helping his mom in her numerous elected & voluntary positions with the Clay County Council for the Blind at local, state, and national levels.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 28, 2023 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations and/or memorials may be made to the Special Olympics of North East Florida.

Floyd was also preceded in Glory by his paternal grandparents, Gunder S. and Minnie Elvira Knutsen.
