Forrest "Toots" Moody

Forrest “Toots” Moody, 92, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away May 18, 2017.  He was born on September 22, 1924 in Clay County, FL to parents Dan and Nina (Dwyer) Moody.  Mr. Moody was a World War II veteran, serving his country in the United States Army.  He worked for Civil Service as a crane operator and after retiring from there he owned Moody & Son Shallow Well Drilling.  He was a member of the Green Cove Springs Church of God and dearly loved his family.  He was affectionately known as “Papa Toots” to his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and numerous siblings and is survived by his children, Susan Jeffers, Donald Moody (Patti), Marilyn Moody and Susan Eller-Roboch; sisters, Laura Wyatt (Jim) and O’dell Price (Joe); 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Thomas Walker officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
