With a heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Kyle Bethune, age 44 of Fleming Island, Florida on Monday, September 6th, 2021. Gary was born February 7th 1977 in Jacksonville Florida to Robert and Nancy Bethune.
Graduated from Wolfson High School and was a recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Award. Gary did construction work and enjoyed operating heavy equipment.
In his free time he liked camping, fishing (saltwater and freshwater), listening to music, sports, fixing small engines and working on vintage Volkswagens. He was an avid member of several car clubs in the area. Gary loved celebrating the beautiful colors of the autumn season.
Gary will be remembered for his bright smile, random acts of kindness plus his love for his friends and family. We take comfort in knowing he is walking with our Lord and Savior.
Survived by his parents Robert and Nancy Bethune, his sisters; Sherrie Szufel and Jennifer Adair (Shane) and nephews; Bryson Adair and Lance Adair all of Fleming Island, FL. Also, his Aunt Debbie Bray (Tim) and cousin; Nicholas Rice (Lisa) of St John’s County, FL and other loving relatives.
Gary wanted to be cremated and his ashes placed at his favorite fishing place.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on September 18th 2021 at 1:00 pm at Grace Anglican Church, 5804 US17 Fleming Island, FL 32003. Senior Pastor Michael McDonald will be officiating.
