Gary Johns Dupuis

Gary John Dupuis passed away on October 20, 2023 in Green Cove Springs, Florida at the age of 74. 

He was born March 18, 1949 to parents Lionel and Alice Dupuis in Old Town, Maine. After high school he attended the University of Maine in Orono, Maine where he earned a Master of Science in Engineering. His life’s work was in Computer Science first with Bolt, Beranek and Newman, followed by Digital Equipment, and Compact, and retirement after 10 years with MIT Lincoln Labs in Lexington, Ma.

He is survived by 6 brothers and sisters – Pam Young (Old Town, Me.), Allen (Riverhead, NY), John (Carmel, Me.), Vernon (Orono, Me.), Kenneth (Orono, Me.) and Lynn Hanscom (Carmel, Me.) 

He was an avid sailor and for several years was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. As a bicyclist, he had ridden thousands of miles on those skinny tires in many parts of the world. At the time of his death, he was doing something he loved – riding his bike, albeit he was riding on a stationary bike trainer. 

He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity and as a good and true friend. I will remember a truly devoted husband with the most amazing blue eyes.

A memorial gathering will be planned for a future date.
