Genaro G. Lopez III (Gino) of Orange Park, Florida passed away on May 19th, 2020. Gino was born on September 8, 1968 in Olongapo, Philippines. He was adopted by Redencion Garcia Lopez and Genaro Lopez Senior and later became a first-generation immigrant to the United States. Gino attended Lake Howell High School of Winter Park, Florida. In 1991, Gino started his career at Ruby Tuesday in the Orlando Fashion Square Mall. He worked hard and stayed goofy. He opened new stores for the company and became a well-known and sought-after kitchen manager with surrounding locations in Central and North Florida. When he moved to North Florida, Gino also began to work for Vito’s Pizzeria. During the twelve years of working for Ernest DiEva, the Vito’s crew became family much like everyone from Ruby Tuesday.
Gino’s hobbies included fishing at the beach with family and friends, dancing like no one was looking, and being a chef even out of the work kitchen. Gino’s all-time favorite thing to do when not working was spending time with his kids and granddaughter. He was very much a family man. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and the Gino Shuffle. He was always able to make people laugh when they didn’t feel like being out of bed. He was also the best LoLo a granddaughter could ever ask for.
He is preceded in death by Redencion Garcia Lopez (adoptive mother), Genaro Lopez Senior (adoptive father). Gino is survived by Lukas B. Lopez (son), Eden A. Lopez (daughter), Tegan R. Lopez (granddaughter), and Elizabeth Monico (former wife). He is also survived by Abel Lopez (adoptive brother), Benjamin Lopez (adoptive brother), Solomon Lopez (adoptive brother), Isreal Lopez (adoptive brother), Rodolfo Lopez (adoptive brother, Amor Lopez (adoptive brother), Elizabeth Lopez Dodson (adoptive sister), Erlinda Lopez Caguiat (adoptive sister), Ruth Lopez Gutierrez (adoptive sister), Rebecca Lopez Willis (adoptive sister), Esther Lopez Lennon (adopitve sister), and family.
Memorial services for Gino are to be announced at a later time. To help his generosity and compassion continue, please donate or volunteer at a Community Hospice location.
