Gennaro Louis Nettuno, 81, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on March 5, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on May 26, 1940 in Jacksonville, FL at St Vincent’s Medical Center to Gennaro J. Nettuno and Anna Pifchick of Jacksonville Beach, FL. Gennaro graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, FL and went on to the University of Florida earning his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years in Colorado Springs and South Korea.
Gennaro was employed with AT&T for 34 years serving as a multi-state Director for Telephone Operator Services before retiring in September 2000. He had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 2001 and enjoyed golf, tennis, and volunteering at the Way Free Clinic in Green Cove Springs, FL.
Gennaro will be remembered for being an incredible and influential father to 4 sons, 2 stepdaughters and 12 grandchildren and being personally involved with each child. He was a friend to all. He is preceded in death by his father, Gennaro J. Nettuno in 2003; his mother, Anna Pifchick in 1980; his former wife and mother of his four sons, Mary Nettuno in 2022 and his grandson, Nicholas Nettuno in 2000.
Gennaro is survived by his spouse, Nancy Nettuno; sons, Jerry and Tiffany Nettuno of Bozeman, Montana, Ken and Angela Nettuno, Anthony and Kimberly Nettuno and Christopher Nettuno of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughters, Lori Gamble of Rockmart, GA and Kimberly and Jay Murdock of Macon, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Coral Nettuno; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Ronnie Glover of St. Augustine.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on March 22, 2022 at 10:30am with Father Sebastian Garcia as celebrant. A reception will follow in Sullivan Hall. Burial will be at The Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA on April 1, 2022.
