George L. Boyd

George Luther Boyd, 69, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on August 16,2023 in Haven of Hospice in Palatka, Florida with his family at his side. He was born on December 15, 1953 in Hissop, Alabama and was the son of James Edward Boyd and Hazel Christine (Turley) Boyd.          He was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs.

He loved to spend time with his family and friends and loved to go fishing and working and tinkering on cars as a hobby. Everyone always knew him for his smile and his kind heart to help other people out.

He will be preceded in death by his parents James E. Boyd and Hazel C. (Turley) Boyd, and two grandchildren Alexia S. Garcia and Douglas S. Boyd, and one sister Doris Fortner, two brothers David Boyd and Charles Boyd. And one special nephew that was always there for him Bruce Hendricks. He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Garcia and William Garcia Jr. of Interlachen, Florida, One beautiful granddaughter Gracie Garcia. He is also survived by two sisters Barbara Hendricks of Palatka, Florida, and Ann Lousie Woodcock (Steve) of Middleburg, Florida, two brothers Carlos Boyd of Macclenny, Florida and Earl Boyd (Jill) of Green Cove Springs, Florida. And numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 21, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Surrency officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
