George Andrew Gaus

George Andrew Gaus, 88 years old of Penney Farms, FL passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023. George was born to Lester Rank Heischman and Mary Catherine Wolfendale.  George was adopted and raised by his mother and stepfather Fredrick Joseph Gaus who he knew and loved as his Dad.

George graduated from Aquinas College High School in Columbus, OH in 1954.

Most of his adult life he was a salesman of deli and bakery packages.  From 1962-2000 he worked for the Unger Company of Cleveland, OH.  From 2000 to the time of his death as a Independent salesman of bakery packages for several companies.

In 1962, George moved from Columbus OH to Madison and Waunakee, WI were he raised a family and resided until 2006.  He lived in Middleburg FL and then Penny Farms, FL.  His hobbies included working, traveling singing in the church choir, eating and riding his golf cart around Penney Farms Retirement Community.  

George is survived by six sons: Raymond (Felicia) of WI, Mark of WI, Matthew of CA, Vincent of MD, Ben (Lori) of WI and John (Kristy) of CA.  Two daughters, Katerina (Rick) Voeltner of KY and Babette Gaus of WI. He is survived by 21 Grandchildren and 26 Great grandchildren.   He is further survived by his sister in law Ann Gaus of OH, 1 niece and 1 nephew.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Donald and his twin brother Thomas.  Two daughters Denise Gaus Boley and Stephanie Gaus Hess,

According to George’s wishes he was cremated.  He wanted a Memorial service in WI which will be September 9, 2023 at Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona DR Monona, WI 53716.  

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-12:00pm, 12:00 PM -1:00 PM Memorial service and Also according to George’s wishes he wanted everyone in attendance at the Memorial service to have one last meal & drinks on him, which will be at 1:00 PM -3:00 PM in the dining room at Gunderson.
