George H. Glisson

George H. Glisson of Green Cove Springs, Florida received his heavenly wings on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born to Hennon and Lois (Glover) Glisson on September 25, 1944, in Swainsboro, Georgia.

George worked as a supervisor of production at Gustafson dairy for over 40 years. George had a few hobbies that he was passionate about including the grass at home and the church to be properly maintained. And of course, family cookouts where he enjoyed fried fish, chicken, and BBQ ribs. He will always be remembered as a sincere husband and father. And a firm and fair man.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Theron Glisson, sister Sheila Glisson, sister Shirley and Jesse Baker, and granddaughter Paige Hamilton.

Survived by his wife Mary Ann (Phillips) Glisson and children Danny (Margie) Glisson, George "Buddy" (Janet) Glisson, Tonya Glisson and Johnny Bennett, Sabrina Nelson and Ronald Dasher, and Timothy Cummings. 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and counting...Brother and sisters Faye (Raymond) Bland, Eva (Robert) Mitchell, Jeff (Pamela) Glisson, and Ann Glisson with many nieces and nephews.

George is home now mowing those heavenly green pastures and conversing with our Heavenly Father about the proper way to mow the grass.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will start at 3:00pm with Reverend Bobby Baker officiating and burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
