George "Pete" Wesley Douglass

George (Pete) Wesley Douglas of Middleburg, FL. passed away to be with The Father on May 12, 2024. He was born in Umatilla, FL to Gladys Parks and John Wesley Douglas on November 26, 1941.

 He was married to Mrs. Linda Gail Douglas, the love of his life. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2017. He was the father to Devin Wesley Douglas, who preceded him in death on July 23, 2023.  He was the brother to Wayne Douglas, who preceded him in death in 2016. He was the brother to Mary Kathleen Douglas, who preceded him in death in 1994. He was the brother to Josephine Varnadore, who preceded him in death in 2000. He was the grandfather to Monique Ladonna Douglas, and great grandfather to Alden Guidry Nelson. He was the brother of Clifford Douglas (Carol), and Susan Thompson (Terry). He precedes them in his death.

 Pete was an avid jeweler and salesman in his lifetime. He was a member of the US Army Infantry, serving in 1961. He loved to look around for new cars, watches, suits, jackets, and shoes. He was never out of style. He loved to spend time with his wife, family, and friends. He loved to advocate for the Lord and would have a story or testimony to give anyone who was in need and would listen. He loved the Lord.

 Pete will be sorely missed by his grandchildren, brother and sister, friends, and family alike. Pete is a one-of-a-kind man who can never be replaced.

 Services will be held at the Broadus-Raines Memorial Chapel in Green Cove Springs, FL. Viewing will be open to friends and family, and will begin at 10 am followed by memorial at 11 am in the chapel. Internment and reception will follow at 2pm at the Swift Creek Mt Zion Baptist Church in Lake Butler, FL.
