Glenn Charles Olmstead age 74 of Middleburg, FL passed away on September 10, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital Middleburg, FL. Glenn was born in Macon, GA Sept. 01, 1947, to Arno and Martha Olmstead then moved to Jacksonville, FL at age seven. After graduating from Paxon High School, he was drafted and entered the United States Marine Corps. After graduating bootcamp from Parris Island, SC he was sent to Vietnam when he returned to Jacksonville, he and Sherry were married on April 12, 1969. He worked the last 28yrs at W.R. Townsend Contracting company, where he was the Service Manager until he retired July 19, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Sherry Olmstead, son Jason Olmstead, grandson's Nicholas Olmstead New Orleans, LA, Wyatt Olmstead Traverse City, MI, daughter in law Erin Olmstead Traverse City, MI and many close family members and friends. Glenn was a member of the VFW, Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on old cars and hot rods for several years. He built his first hot rod at the age of 13 with a little help from his dad and he loved going to drag races especially the Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL. Glenn was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved making people laugh! A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at Black Pond Baptist Church, 3644 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068 on Sept. 19, 2021 at 2pm. Pastors Charlie Hunt and Jason Brown officiating.
