Grady B. Law, age 99, was born June 16, 1924 and passed Monday, September 11, 2023. He graduated from Palm Beach High School, West Palm Beach, FL on June 5, 1942. Right after he graduated, Grady answered the call of his country, serving in the U.S. Navy as a Fighter Pilot aboard the USS Cowpens in the Pacific Theater during WWII. When he returned from the Pacific at the end of WWII, he was tasked with teaching close formation and strategic flying and combat engagement. This would later become, “Top Gun” school. He retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves as Commander on June 16, 1984. He married his high school sweetheart, L. Elene Treadwell on June 4, 1944. Grady and Elene remained married until her death on October 8, 2011. They were best friends and partners in all things in the 67 years they had together. They had a full and interesting marriage that entailed many different addresses as well as all the adventures that come with being parents. After going into the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Pilot, Grady joined on with Atlantic Richfield Oil Company (now known as ARCO), working in Sales, District Management and Real Estate. He was able to retire at the young age of 56. He and Elene returned to Florida initially living in Fort Myers and then finally settling permanent roots in Green Cove Springs where they built the first home in Magnolia Point. Grady will be remembered for his quick wit, being a good friend, his amazing memory, his mentorship and how much he loved his family, especially babies. He was a long-time member of Russell Baptist Church, Green Cove Springs, FL as well as an avid golfer and was proud to have played the Masters course in Augusta, GA. He was also very proud of having more than one “holes in one”.
