Gwyneth Evans was born in Cheltenham, England on the 17th of September 1941 as the daughter of Frank and Ella Hall. Gwyneth lived her first 21 years in her hometown of Cheltenham until she immigrated to the United States to marry her loving husband Robert Evans on the 4th of December 1963. Gwyneth was first an Air Force wife and later an Army wife and moved often and traveled extensively. She lived in Texas, Iowa, Alabama, Ankara Turkey, Georgia, Hawaii, and back to Iowa, before her last move to Florida where their retirement home was built in 2004.
Gwyneth often commented that she had the toughest job in the U.S. Army, being an Army wife. On several occasions she had to serve as both mother and father and manage the household on her own during her husband’s absences on overseas assignments.
Gwyneth was preceded in death by her mother and father; siblings Anthony Hall, Doreen Hall, and Kathleen Dowdeswell; granddaughter Rachel Steinhauer; and daughter Yvonne Keefer. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband Robert Evans; son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Lisa Evans; daughter Sue Ann Evans; granddaughters Megan (Walter Ortega) Evans and Elise (Dominic) Visingardi; two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many friends in the area.
