Hendrik Mobach

November 26, 1949 — November 14, 2018

Hendrik Mobach was taken home by our Lord on November 14, 2018. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Green Cove Springs, FL after encountering complications from battling cancer.

Hendrik was 68 years old and a successful businessman, operating as a painting contractor for more than 35 years in the Bay Area. Within his network, he established many close friendships and associates in which he cherished very dearly.

As a very young man, Hendrik served on a cargo ship and sailed around the world. This experience is what defined his vision to see more, experience more, and desire more from life.  At the age of 19, he fell in love, married his bride, and they immediately started a family, where they were blessed with two daughters. Living in Amsterdam at the time, he moved his family to America to further enhance his vision and opportunity to see more, experience more, and get more. And after much perseverance, he found exactly that. Along with his wife, Hendrik took his daughters on many vacations to various locations to show them not only the beauty of our country, but to be able to experience the diversity of people, their cultures, and a different way of life. He was a man that loved traveling, food, people, and above all, family. He especially loved traveling with his best friend and wife of 49 years, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a cruise going to a new destination on a new ship.

Today we lay to rest a gentle, compassionate and loving man that cherished his life, which he never took for granted, treated others well, and always had a genuine smile and a listening ear to lend. He gave more than he received, and he was a firm believer in forgiveness and loving one another.

Hendrik is survived by his wife, two daughters, sons-in-laws, granddaughter, and two brothers. He was also an amazing brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Hendriks mantra was “Don’t worry, be happy – everything’s going to work out and be okay.”  He would want people to take comfort in that and remember him fondly. We will miss him dearly.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude and appreciation for all of your expressions of support and kindness that they have received during this difficult time in their lives. In lieu of flowers, as per Hendrik’s request, please donate to the Ronald McDonald House in Jacksonville, Fl (as it was dear to his heart).
