Henry Squires

August 7, 1952 — July 1, 2018

Henry Squires (65) passed away on July 1, 2018.  He was a devoted husband to Linda Squires for over 30 years. Henry was born in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Stocklin & Susie Squires as one of 12 children.  Henry served honorably in the US Army as a combat medic during the Vietnam War.  He was an avid Nascar fan, with Tony Stuart being his favorite driver.  He had a passion and true gift for renovating homes, including owning his own construction company with wife, Linda, for many years.  He was a survivor, beating cancer and several other heart conditions over the last 15 years.

Henry made promises that he kept, always there to help a neighbor or senior citizen in need.  He was dedicated to his work, whatever it may have been, but always took time to sit and share words of wisdom, a delicious meal from his kitchen or grill and never missed an opportunity to impress with a tremendous amount of jokes sure to keep the laughs coming.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by son Hank Squires of Jacksonville, FL, daughters Shelly Capps of Coldwater, MS and Carla Dingman of Owoosa, MI, and grandson Gage Dingman; his sister Carol Sigler of Fleming Island, FL and brother Terry Squires of Anderson, Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and loved ones.  He was preceded in death by son Benjamin Gardner of Jacksonville, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America at www.vva.org or by mailing to 8719 Colesville Rd, Suite 100 Silver Spring, MD 20910.
