Herbert Edward Sandidge, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Edward Sandidge Jr., of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on April 14, 2023.  He was born on April 20th, 1949 to Mary Jane Dempsey Sandidge and Herbert Edward Sandidge, Sr. in Keokuk, Iowa.  After he graduated high school, he was drafted into the US Army and served at Oakland Army Base in California. After his military service he attended the University of Iowa, and later graduated from Quincy College in Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He was a member of the Catholic Church and worked in sales in Keokuk.  In 1988 he moved his family to Venice, Florida and worked as a medical facilities manager. After retirement, he relocated his family to the Jacksonville, Florida area.  Herbert loved spending time with his family swimming in the pool, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, and listening to Bruce Springstein. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kae Huffman Sandidge; daughters, Ashley Marie Thomas Ross (Nathan R. Ross) and Maureen Suzanne Sandidge Eggers (Christopher M. Eggers); grandson, Bodie C. Eggers; and sisters, Helen Sandidge Davis (John Davis) and Suzanne Sandidge Kelley. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tara Jane Sandidge and brother-in-law, Lorenzo Kelley.

He will be laid to rest privately at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
