Homer Lee “Skipper” Padgett, 63, of Palatka, Florida gained his heavenly wings July 24th, 2021. He was a native of Clay Hill, FL and had lived in the Palatka area for the past 29 years.
He made his living as a semi-truck driver hauling anything he could. He was known as “Daddy Rabbit” in the trucking world.
He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Geneva Padgett.
He is survived by his “Bouncing Bride” Debbie L Padgett of 45 years, his 2 sons Kevin Padgett Sr (Kayla) and Kristopher Padgett, 2 daughters Karrie Padgett (Ricky) and Kellia Skeens (Hassell Jr).
He is survived by 12 grandchildren Kevin Jr, Kinsey (Caden), Breaze-Anah, Breckin (Elizabeth), Braden, Ansleigh (Joel), Debbie (Cody) Ashlyn (Tony), Hassell lll, Trevor, Ashton, and Kason. 2 great grandchildren Caiden and Gracie. 2 sisters MaryLou Barber (Billy) and Debra Deese (Jimmy) Bonus son Richard Johns (Julie) and their children Ricky(Sam) and Kamerin, as well as many numerous bonus children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
He was a simple man and lived a simple life full of love for his entire family. He never made an enemy, but his best-known trait was picking and joking. If he picked on you, he liked you. You always knew where you stood with him. He will be sorely missed.
His viewing will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday July 30th, 2021, from 5-6pm for immediate family then 6 to 8pm for family and friends.
His services will be held Saturday July 31st at 11am Graveside/Interment at Padgett Cemetery in Jennings State Forest with Pastor David Eddins officiating.
