Ida Lee Cox

Ida Lee Cox, 92, of Green Cove Springs, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2023.  She was born in Lawtey, FL on June 8, 1931, to parents Louise Starling and Lewis Crawford.  She was a homemaker and served the Lord at Hickory Grove Baptist Church as a teacher in Sunday School, Bible School, on the benevolence committee, and many other functions within the church.  She also ran the concession stand at the local baseball park for many years.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.  

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, Louise Starling and Lewis Crawford; her husband, Frank Cox; her daughter, Frances Brown; and son-in-law, Steve Rhoades.  

She is survived by her sister, Trudell Starling; children, Elaine Rhoades, Janis Kirk (Perry), and James Cox (Kim); grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Joshua Moody, Jennifer Hubbard, Zachary Cox (Delaney), Kaley Cox, Rachel Belew and Rebecca Kirk; great grandchildren Landon, Mason, Kyllian, Kennedi, and Raelyn.  

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Dr. Russell Franklin officiating and burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
