Larry Green

Jack Lawrence Green (Larry) of Orange Park, FL went home to be with Jesus on December 29, 2020. Larry was born to the late Lois and William Green in Jacksonville, Florida on March 21, 1946.

After graduating from Ribault High School in 1964, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Larry worked at A&P coffee plant and later Beaver Street Foods as a forklift mechanic until he retired.

As a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church for 33 years, he served as a deacon and taught singles, youth, young married classes and on men's retreats. His favorite subjects were prayer, the dash, for men to be gentlemen, and having a teachable spirit.

Larry enjoyed playing chess, dominoes, and other games with his family and friends. He also liked to travel with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janie Green, two daughters, Michelle (David) Upchurch and Lisa Chapman, two grandsons, David Lake Upchurch and Jonathan Chapman, one brother and two sisters, Bill Green, Cathy (Kate) Sutton, and Lois Ann Tuell.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Centerpoint Baptist Church. Funeral service to directly follow. Graveside will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
