James Carrol Cheatham of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March, 1, 2022 at the age of 62. He was born to Carrol and Olivia Cheatham on February 28, 1960. He was a loving brother to his six siblings: Christine, Norman, Debra, Michael, Page, and Thomas.
James was a pioneer in the telecommunications industry, beginning his career in New Haven, Indiana in 1975. He worked for Cable Vision, Continental Cable, SunBelt Communications, and eventually started his own company, SunCoast Communications. He spent the last 10 years of his career with SEU.
James met and married his wife and best friend, Lee, in 1984. Together they raised three children: Scott, Amy, and Bumper. He was a proud grandpa to Logan, Kylie, Gracie, Evan, John, Adalyn, Luke, Theo, and Max. James was also a beloved nephew, uncle, cousin, son/father/brother-in law, and friend.
James was an avid golfer and master on the charcoal grill. His love for his family, work ethic, and faith were evident in the life he lived. He will be missed greatly and remembered for his unconditional love, kindness, and cheerful spirit.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Oakleaf Baptist Church, 800 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway, Orange Park, FL 32065.
