James "Jimmie" Jarvis, born on October 7, 1938, in Elwood, Indiana, passed away on March 1, 2025, in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man who will be profoundly missed.
Jimmie lived in the Green Cove Springs area for 27 years, where he was an active member of the Harbor Baptist Church. His faith and commitment to his church were significant aspects of his life, reflecting his deep spirituality and love for his community. For many years, he was a member of the “Rich’s Breakfast Club” after moving to Green Cove Springs. In 2002, he retired from Ring Power Corporation after a lifelong career in transportation.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Jarvis; his son, James "Scott" Jarvis and daughter-in-law, Lynn of Dupont Center, Florida; his daughter, Connie Powell and son-in-law, Don of Elwood, Indiana; his brother, Robert Stephen Jarvis of Daytona, Florida; his sisters, Jone Jarvis of Orlando, Florida, Janene Peeper and her husband, Mike of Elwood, Indiana; and his sister, Carole Porter of Noblesville, Indiana. Jimmie also leaves behind his grandchild, Kevin Powell and spouse, Autumn, along with three great-grandchildren, Faith, Karter, and Knox. Additionally, he will be remembered fondly by his 85-year-old aunt, Sharon Sells of Elwood, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was predeceased by his father, Robert Harvey Jarvis, and his mother, Jeannette (Stephenson) Dunlop. His memory will be honored by all who knew and loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and family devotion.
The family will receive friends at 11:00am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Harbor Baptist Church, Highway 17 South at Clay Street, Fleming Island, FL and the memorial service will begin at 12:00pm with Pastor Warren Chesser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following charities, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Tunnels to Towers, Wounded Warriors Project, or the Harbor Baptist Church Building Fund.
