JAMES A. TOMBARELLO

MARCH 23, 1958 – DECEMBER 08, 2017

James Anthony Tombarello (59), formerly of Haverhill, MA passed away December 8th in Jacksonville, FL.

Raised in Haverhill, Jim graduated from Haverhill High School in 1976 and then served several years in the US Marine Corps.

Jim eventually moved to Florida, living for a time in Lakeland - before settling in Jacksonville.  He owned and operated Southern Concrete Repair in Jacksonville for more than 22-years (until the time of his passing).

Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time (and entertaining friends) at his mountain home in Sautee, GA; hoping to one day retire there.  He also enjoyed cooking and spending quiet time with his beloved dogs (Diesel, Lilly, and Willow).

Jim is survived by his wife of 23-years, Susan (Hay) Tombarello; daughter Amber and her husband Ethan Orr of Ft. Leavenworth, KS; son Ross and his partner, Jason Fernandez of Atlanta, GA; mother, Winn Ross (wife of the late Joseph Ross) of Haverhill, MA; brothers Scott Tombarello of Windham, NH; Thomas Tombarello and his wife, MaryKate of Sandown, NH; sister Mary Ross of Bradford, MA; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was the son of the late, Joseph Tombarello.

Jim’s family would also like to give recognition and thanks to his special friend, Oreste Dominguez-Pupo and his hospice nurse, Tanya Vicciardo for their help and dedication during his final days.

Jim and his beloved Labrador (Savannah) were buried with military honors at a private ceremony at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on December 21, 2017.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors, ASPCA, or Community Hospice.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Italian-American Club (2838 Westberry Rd, Jacksonville) for food and fellowship on Saturday, February 17th.  Please contact the family for more details.
