James A. Watson, 60, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away on April 8, 2021. He was born to John A. and Patricia J. Watson in Clermont, FL. He is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Paul. He is survived by his mother, brothers John, Chuck, and Tom, and sisters Nancy and Mary.
In the last year of his life, instead of focusing on his own illness, he did many thoughtful things to make his mother's life pleasant. He planted flowers and kept fresh arrangements in the house, among other special improvements. He made the most of each day he had left and helped everyone else be at peace with what he had already accepted. He knew he was going on to a new and better life.
Jimmy was a mad paddler of rivers wild and a passionate lover of soulful songs. Those who were fortunate enough to know him are left with fond memories of a genuine friend and lessons on how to live life to the fullest.
Never thinking he would be a chef, not only did he cook, but he won a Silver Spoon Award at his first job. He had many interesting occupations, including white water rafting guide, cell phone tower climber, and restaurant owner. When he left the restaurant business, he pursued a new interest in golf and became a professional caddy.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St. Mary's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1346, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 for the maintenance of the memorial garden.
