James "Jimbo" Wilkes

James “Jimbo” Wilkes, 73, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on December 4, 2020. He was born to Henry Floyd Wilkes and Ruth Rutledge (Wilkes) on November 19, 1947. Jimbo was married to his wife Sherri for 52 years. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1972. He was a member of the Green Cove Springs Athletic Association for over 20 years and 4-H for 5 years. He enjoyed hunting, outdoor activities, and horses.

Mr. Wilkes will be remembered for his dry sense of humor that his sons inherited, quick wit, and being an amazing Papa to his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, big brother William Wilkes, and nephew Scott Wilkes.

He is survived by his wife Sherri; children: Jamey, Ashley, and Matthew; brother, Ronnie Wilkes; sister, Gail Roberts; grandchildren: Maxie, Aaliyah, Dominick, River, Dalton, Lucas, and Liam; and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Jeth Looney officiating. Graveside service to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
