James Lamar Wilson, III

James Lamar Wilson III age 74 of Orange Park, FL passed away December 14, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Wilson and two children: Douglas Lamar Wilson (Leslie Wilson) and Dr. Matthew Robert Wilson (Kelly Wilson). He is survived by two grandchildren: Theodore Jonathan Wilson and Henry Christopher James Wilson.   He is survived by two sisters: Sandra Wilson Harris (Dr. Henry Harris) and Dr. Suzanne Wilson-Davis (Dr. Gary Davis) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jim retired from CSX Transportation in 2007 in Jacksonville, FL, as Manager of Merchandise Operations.  His career spanned forty years of service, including employment with the former Georgia Railroad, the Atlanta and West Point Railroad, and the Western Railway of Alabama.

Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.   He enjoyed spending time with his family through church activities, scouting, the Clay County Special Olympics, and music.   He played trombone, performing with The All-Star Orchestra for July 4th celebrations and the Night of Lights at St. Augustine.  He also played with the Clay County Community Band and the Clay County Swing Band.
