Jerry "Sarge" Fuller

Jerry “Sarge” Fuller, of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away November 28, 2018.  He was born September 22, 1942 in Dayton, OH to parents Harry and Marie (Efney) Fuller. Graduating from West Carrollton High School in Dayton, Ohio, he was Captain of the Pirates Football Team senior year. Serving his country for over seventeen years in the United States Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve, Mr. Fuller was a member of the championship 24^th Infantry Division Football team in Europe. A GM retiree from Dayton, Ohio he moved to Panama City Beach and established the “local’s favorite” Patches Pub in 1993. 

Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Lance Fuller and his brother-in-law, Rick Bryant.  Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Becky Fuller; wife-in-law of twenty-six years, Ann Fuller; son, Shane Fuller (Kimberly); brothers, Bill Fuller (Ruth) and Bob Fuller (Mary Ellen); sister, Lynda Bryant; grandchildren, Heather Fuller (Felton) and Megan Winstead (Steve) and great-grandchildren, Apollo, Cooper, Oliver, Kingston, Parker and Piper.

Sarge loved his family, Ohio State football and his military fraternal brothers. He enjoyed traveling and he and Becky RV’d for four years after retirement visiting some of America’s greatest landmarks and treasures, visiting family and friends along the way.  He was a Life Member of and served as Chaplain of the AmVet Post 47 in Panama City Beach, Life Member of The American Legion Post 392 Panama City, Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10555, Member of 40 & 8 Voiture Locale 1606 Panama City, Associate Member of the FRA 346 and he was a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge Robinson-Plumb #266, F&AM in Louisville, KY.  He was blessed to reconnect with his 24^th Infantry teammates in 2005 and attended ten annual reunions over the past thirteen years meeting his fellows in Orlando, Dallas, Cleveland, Memphis, New Orleans, Seattle, Boston, Charleston, Oklahoma City and San Diego.  

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on January 19, 2019 at Amvets Post 47, 8317 Front Beach Rd. #14, Panama City Beach, FL 32407.  Family and friends will be asked to kick back and share “Sarge” stories as we raise a glass to the amazing, loving and unique individual we knew as Jerry Fuller.
