Jimmie Nelson Moore passed away on February 24, 2022 at the age of 73. Born to Nelson and Doris Moore on July 26, 1948 in Starke, Florida, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rene Wilson.
Jimmie served in Vietnam as a K9 Handler for the United States Air Force. He authored two books related to his service, including a recently published book, which details the effects Agent Orange had on him and his longtime friend, Joseph Barbarise, who succumbed to those effects in 2012. Jimmie was also a compassionate musician and a lifelong drummer who studied music at the University of Florida.
He was a loving husband to his wife of 49 years, Virginia Moore, and they shared their life with Virginia's sister, Susan "sweetpea" Steckiel, in Jacksonville, Florida. He has a loving nephew and niece, Craig Wilson and Sandra Brock.
Jimmie will be remembered at the Corey-Kerlin funeral home on Friday, March 18th, at 4pm, which is located 940 Cesery Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
