Jimmie Dale Tamsett, 73, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on March 6, 2020. He was born to Harry and Lazelle Tamsett on April 19, 1946 in Leesburg, Florida and grew up in Tavares, Florida.
He graduated from Tavares High School in 1964. He was a member of the Florida National Guard. He married his wife, Carol Sue Tamsett in August of 1968 and was founder and owner of Tamsett Electric.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lazelle Tamsett as well as his brothers Tommie and Johnnie.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Tamsett, daughters Jill Tamsett-Schmidt and Heidi Bogle, his sons-in-law Curtis Schmidt and Robin Bogle, and his grandchildren Parker, Carson, Carli and Kate.
He will be remembered for his infectious smile, large personality and love for his family. He loved golfing, fishing, boating, Florida State Football and playing with his grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the First United Methodist Church (UMAC Building) in Tavares on Saturday, March 14, at 11am. Jimmie wasn’t fond of dressing up so we encourage guests to come in dressy casual-jeans and boat shoes-no socks.
