Jimmy Victorio Abigando was born in Pensacola, Florida to Victorio and Aline Abigando on June 30, 1941. He was the youngest of four children. He spent many years in the construction industry, building both commercial and residential properties. Jimmy was a master craftsman with the ability to build complex structures from a simple photograph. After leaving the construction industry he enrolled in college and earned an associate degree at the age of 69. He then began working for the VA as a drug counselor soon becoming the most asked for counselor on staff. Jimmy joined the Knights of Columbus putting many hours of dedicated service. He eventually rose to the level of 4th degree Grand Knight.
He was very proud of his family and loved them very much. He is survived by his sister, two children, two grandsons, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fleming Island with Fr. Mike Pendergraft officiating. A reception will follow in the Sullivan Hall.
