Joan Cecilia O'Neill

Joan Cecilia O'Neill, resident of Saint Augustine, FL, and beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017.

Joan was born on July 22, 1931 to Maurice and Sara O'Connor in Philadelphia, Pa. After spending many happy years in the area, Joan eventually met her beloved husband, William James O'Neill, while serving as secretary at Decker Engineering. After marrying in 1956 and starting their family of eight children, the O'Neill’s lived in many states across the country, finally setting in Florida in 1987.

Joan is survived by her children, William (Marianne), Joseph (Katrina), Kathleen (Terence and Meagan, Bridget and Patrick); Margaret, Maurice, Patricia (Tom and Drew and Ryan), Michael (Laura), and John (Heather and Connor, Griffin and Julia); her sisters, Margaret, Maureen and Barbara; and her adored cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate and remember the life of Joan O'Neill will be held on January 4, 2018 at 12:00pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with celebrant Fr. Michael Pendergraft.

Joan will be honored and lovingly remembered by all those whose lives she has touched with her sweetness and kindness as she makes her journey to be with her Lord.
