Joel Lynne Daniel, 79, passed away June 12, 2021 in Orange Park, FL. Joel (Lynn) and his wife moved from Macon, GA to Florida after his retirement to be closer to his daughter and her family.
He was employed 37 1/2 years for Georgia Power Company in substation construction and later at Plants Branch and Arkwright. His final years with Georgia Power were at Plant Arkwright and the Warner Robins substation.
Joel proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964.
He was born March 17, 1942, in Atlanta, GA. His parents, Joel and Evia Blalock Daniel, and his sister, Dorothy Daniel Smith, preceded him in death.
Joel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karel Champe Daniel, his daughter, Darcy Daniel Orr (Bill), and his 2 favorite grandchildren, Finlee Orr and Alex Orr.
He was a long time member of Al Sihah Shrine in Macon, GA; Morocco Shrine in Jacksonville, FL; Rising Star Lodge #4 in Eatonton, GA; South GA Studebaker Drivers Club and Antique Automobile Club of America (NEFL).
He loved playing golf when he was able, but more recently could be found at car shows where he enjoyed shooting the breeze with others about their old cars.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Al Sihah Shrine transportation fund, 222 Mecca Dr., Macon. GA 31206, or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
A private family service will be held.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at River Christian Church, 5900 US-17, Fleming Island, FL 32003.
