John Ray Jenner, 57, passed away July 4, 2022. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky into a loving family on January 8, 1965, to parents Gwen and Ray Jenner with two older siblings David and Rita.
He grew up residing in Green Cove Springs, FL where he graduated from Clay High School. Afterward he achieved his life goal of becoming a police officer for the Green Cove Springs Police Department. He had a variety of responsibilities such as dispatch, detective for narcotics and cybercrimes, as well as ending his career as a Sergeant on patrol. He really loved his career, and he enjoyed teaching, training, and being a part of the community to help whoever and wherever he was needed.
In his off time, he enjoyed hobbies such as photography, wood working, and leather working projects with skills that he learned from his father. Cooking was also a major part of his life; he loved smoking meats and cooking anything under the sun. In between all these hobbies you could catch him watching his favorite westerns and always quoting his favorite movie character, John Wayne.
John will always be remembered as Officer Jenner, someone that anyone in Green Cove could rely on and be happy to have as a friend. He is survived by his daughter Kaitlin; two sons Wyatt and Trenton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 14, 2022, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Tim Martin officiating.
