John Weldon Suttle

John Weldon Suttle, 85, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on September 10, 2019.  He was born on July 5, 1934 in Marion, North Carolina to the late Carl F. and Lottie S. (Dayberry) Suttle.  John came to the area in 1976 and was a member of the Faith Baptist Temple.  He played semi-pro baseball for the US Navy as a short stop, was an avid golfer, a die-hard Redskins and Boston Red Socks fan and loved to read his bible every day.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Jeanette Chesser Suttle; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Suttle Jackson and spouse Kristopher; grandchildren, James “Jace” David Carpenter, IV and Hanna Reese Carpenter; 15 nephews and 12 nieces.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12:00pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Brother Wayne Morris officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
