Jon Lowell Krause

of Green Cove Springs, passed away, February 17, 2023, at Haven Hospice in Orange Park.

Jon is survived by his mother, Polly Krause, sister, Julie (Arthur) Pitts of Tallahassee, his three nephews and their families, Andrew (Elizabeth) Pitts, Caleb (Laura) Pitts of Tallahassee and Ian (Emily) Pitts of Plainville, CT as well as his cousin, Kenneth Maxwell of Vero Beach and sons, Brooks and Austin Maxwell. 

Jon was born May 25, 1960 in Jacksonville to John and Polly Krause. As a  “navy brat” there were multiple stateside locations, always playing baseball, but the final station was in Naples Italy where Jon graduated from Forrest Sherman High School in 1977. After graduation, Jon was a member of the US Navy Reserves serving as a Seabee for six years. This led to his career with the Clay County School Board from where he ultimately retired in 2021 as an electrician after 40 years of service. 

Jon enjoyed spending time outdoors, mainly hunting, watching deer in his yard and fishing having learned the latter from his grandmother Maxwell in the St. Johns River. 

The family wishes to convey their gratitude to the neighbors, friends and family who provided support and love during his illness. Your actions and expression have been greatly appreciated.

Jon was rich beyond measure because of each of you.
