Jonathan A. Davis

March 21, 1989 — October 24, 2017

Jonathan Alexander Davis, 28, of Orange Park passed away at home, October 24, 2017.  He was born on March 21, 1989, to Charles and Sharon Davis.  Jonathan had the most delightful personality and playful manner.  His quick wit and ready smile brought laughter to everyone, at no one’s embarrassment or hurt. Jonathan centered his life around his faith in Jesus.  He spent the last two years studying the Bible and Christian apologetics.  He had a driving passion to support his faith with reason and logic.  God gave him a mind, he said, and he wanted to use it to learn about and understand God. Jonathan loved music.  He played bass guitar and sang in bands with his brother Micah.  They recorded and performed live both in Jacksonville and Dallas. Jonathan worked in food service and was a genuine ‘foodie’ at heart.  He dreamed of opening his own barbeque restaurant to share his remarkable talent for smoking meat with his secret rub, to a most delicious perfection.  At his passing, Jonathan and Micah were preparing to open a tea and smoothie shop. Jonathan was a great friend to many. He cherished life-long friendships, and new acquaintances and coworkers quickly became his friends.  Jonathan showed love to all and was greatly loved in return.  Above all, Jonathan was a peacemaker. Jonathan is survived by his parents Charles and Sharon Davis; his sister Arielle of Orange Park and his brother Micah, of Dallas, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Maxine Enfinger (Anderson) Coville of Pensacola, Florida; four aunts, four uncles, and eleven cousins.   Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9   A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Proverbs 18:24   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time in the chapel. Final interment will be in the family’s private cemetery in Santa Rosa County, Florida.   In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Jonathan A. Davis to the Chick-fil-a Foundation, at: Chick-fil-a Attn: Linda Hedgecock 5200 Buffington Road Atlanta, GA. 30349
