Joseph Ralph Hogan Jr.

Joseph Ralph Hogan Jr., 89 of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Baxter County, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 17, 2023. Joseph was born July 2, 1934, in Cotter, Arkansas to Joseph Ralph Hogan Sr. and Mary Wallace Fowler Hogan.

Joseph married Deva Jo Brainerd in Cotter, Arkansas on April 10, 1952. He was a graduate of Cotter High School and completed his Civil Engineering College Degree in only three years from the University of Arkansas. He was a Professional Civil Engineer, specializing in Environmental management. He was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Granddad, as he’s been called for many years, had a wonderful sense of humor, which will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Ralph Hogan III (Dawn) of Huntsville, Alabama, his daughter, Mary Ruth Halvorsen (Mark) of Bryceville, Florida, five grandchildren – Melissa (Dale), Andrew, Christopher, Mark and Brendon (Marie), and three great-grandchildren – Ava, Shelby, and Samwise.                             

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary, and his wife of 56 years, Deva Jo Hogan. 

Funeral arrangements are pending at Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
