Joseph Emanuel Hunter

Joseph Emanuel Hunter, 50 yrs old, of Green Cove Springs FL, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018. Born to Leslie William Hunter and Lennie Juanita Preslar on December 12, 1967 in Gainesville FL. Joseph was married to Paula Evelyn Hunter for 17 years. His hobbies included; collecting trucks (Ford trucks), junking, scraping, tinkering, collector of another man’s trash which he made a treasure. Spending time with friends and family, crabbing-trout lines and mud bogging. He will be remembered for his compassion and charity work in our local community, Joseph would fix bikes year-round to have them ready for Christmas as he donated bikes to the local VFW post 1988 at Christmas time every year for the children in need, he also was the cook at many local events including, life celebrations, benefits, funeral fundraisers and community get togethers. Joseph was always trying to help people he knew and didn't know.

Preceded in death by his father, Leslie (Willard) Hunter; mother, Lennie Juanita Preslar; brothers, Leslie Hunter Jr. and Johnny Hunter; sisters, Mannis Hunter and Norma Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Hunter of Green Cove Springs; brothers, Ovie Hunter Sr., Calvin Hunter and Randall Hunter; sisters, Blanche Leonard, Mandora Davis and Edith Spears; sons, Matthew Cercy and J.W. Hunter; daughters, Brittany Tedder, Ashley Sandiford, Kristy Fillyaw and Michelle Robertson. Joseph had over 12 grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Chaplain Jerry Baucum officiating. Burial will follow at Decoy Cemetery. Life celebration will be held at the VFW post #1988 located at 421 S Orange Ave, Green Cove Springs, FL, if donating food please bring to that location. There will be an open floor invitation to speak about Joseph, jokes, memories, and good stories are welcome.
