JOSEPH HAROLD MITCHELL 86 DIED ON WED JULY 8, 2020 IN ORANGE PARK HOSPITAL. JOE OR JODY ALSO KNOWN AS, WAS BORN IN JAMESTOWN, OHIO MAY 24, 1934 TO ROSCOE HAROLD MITCHELL AND NAOMI COSS, JOE WAS THE FOURTH OF FIVE CHILDREN AND IS PRECEEDED BY HIS PARENTS, A BROTHER JIM MITCHELL AND A SISTER JOYCE MITCHELL AND A GRANDSON MARK JOSEPH SALMON, TWO LIVING SIBLINGS BROTHER BOBBY MITCHELL AND SISTER MARYANN SZEMPRUCH, ALONG WITH A LEGACY OF DEVOTION OF LOVE AND WARMTH TO FRANCES PARKERSON HIS LONG AND UNFORGETABLE SOULMATE. JOE WAS A MAN WHOM WAS ALSO PROUD TO BE A FATHER OF FOUR CHILDREN AND A GRANDFATHER OF NINE GRANDCHILDREN AND A GREAT GRANDFATHER OF SIXTEEN GREAT GRAND CHILDREN HIS LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY WAS GENIUE, JOSEPH LIVED FOR THOSE THAT HE HELD CLOSE TO HIS HEART TO THE VERY END, MEMORIES WILL KEEP HIS LIFE A REALITY TO ALL WHOM LIFE HE TOUCHED.

JOSEPH SERVED IN THE AIR FORCE FOR FOUR YEARS INCLUDING BEING STATION IN ENGLAND WHILE WORKING ON AIR PLANES DURING THE   KOREAN WAR. HE WAS JUST 17 WHEN HE JOINED AND SHORTLY AFTER GETTING BACK TO THE STATES HE MARRIED MARLENE LEIGH DURING THEIR MARRAGE JOE WENT TO COLLEGE TO BECOME A CHIROPRACTOR SETTING UP HIS PRACTICE IN ST.PETERSBURG FLA. AND LATER MOVING HIS FAMILY TO JACKSONVILLE FLA TO EXPAND HIS PRACTICE, JOE BELIEVED IN SELF HEALING AND LIVING HIS DREAM TO THE FULLEST. HE WORKED UP TO HIS DEATH BELIEVING IN WHAT HE WAS DOING HAD MEANING AND PURPOSE TO ALL HE CAME IN CONTACT WITH HE WAS A VERY GIVING AND CARING PERSON NOT ONLY TOWARD HIS FAMILY BUT HIS COMMUNITY AND WILL FOREVER LEAVE AN IMPRESSION IN OUR HEARTS AND ARE THOUGHTS.

A GRAVESIDE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 AM, FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2020 AT THE JACKSONVILLE NATIONAL CEMETERY WITH MILITARY HONORS RENDERED.
