Joy “Renee” (Saxon) Justus

Joy “Renee” (Saxon) Justus, 63, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on October 13, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1960 in Waynesboro, GA to Gene and Helen Saxon. Renee moved to Clay County with her family in 1968 and she graduated from Clay High School in 1980. Renee enjoyed a fulfilling career of 30 years with the Clay County School Board before her retirement in 2019 as Clay High Schools Administrative Secretary. 

Renee was married to Ricky Leo Justus and was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She cherished spending time with her family, and delighted in spoiling her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and well as everyone she met. Her passions included tea parties with her friends and family, shopping (usually for others), fishing and camping and making memories with her family, gardening, and spoiling her Dachshunds Minnie and Pebbles. She loved children and was known as Granny to her 2 grandchildren as well as many others she thought of as family.

 Renee is preceded in death by her parents Eugene Talmadge Saxon and Helen Juanita (Burke) Saxon, her Mother-in-Law, Kay Justus and her Brother-in-Law, Marty Justus. Renee is survived in life by her devoted husband of 42 years, Ricky Leo Justus, her two wonderful sons Ricky Dwayne Justus (Chrissy) and Keith Ryan Justus (Jessica), her 2 grandchildren Katie and Jace Justus, her Father-in-Law, Leo Justus, and her siblings Robin White (Paul), Dewey Saxon (Diane), Nita Rhyea Saxon, and Rhonda Saxon-Holt (Eric), her nieces and nephews, Greg Justus, Eddy White (Melissa), Stephanie Gill (Alan), Joanna Greenway (Wesley), Brandon Saxon, Kristen Dieckmann (John-Michael), Taylor Chism (Zach), Emily Holt, and Sophia Holt, and her great nieces and nephews, Gracie Justus, Matthew White, Alex White, Andrew White, Karis White, Olivia White, Zoey Gill, Stella Waswick, and Maverick Greenway.

 A graveside service will be held for Renee on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Penney Farms Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Mills of Sharon Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, FL.
