Juan Antonio “Tony” Otero, son of Juan Otero and Maria Rios, was born January 24th of 1950 in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. Husband to Rosa Lydia Otero who were united in matrimony September 30, 1973. Blessed with 7 children, Sandra, Rosa, Samuel, Noemi, David, Judith and Zulay Otero, grandfather to 26 children and great-grandfather to 11.
He quietly departed this life on September 17, 2020, while sleeping peacefully in the comfort of his home. There was an opening in the Lord’s orchestra in heaven and Juan accepted the position. He had been preparing for this since the moment he let The Lord into his heart.
He enjoyed fishing, but understood that he was called to be a fisherman of men for the Kingdom of God. His real passion was music and worshipping The Lord with his guitar, for he feared the Lord. His joyful personality was proof of his relationship with the Holy Spirit. The beautiful melodies he played and the songs he sang for The Lord, will remain in the lives and hearts of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with the service to follow at 3:00pm.
