Kathleen Ann Peters, 70, of Middleburg, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
She was born the eldest daughter of Douglas and Laverne Kelso on November 5, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Kathleen was a devoted and loving mother, wife, and nana who worked tirelessly for those she loved. She is known for her warmth and smile, sense of humor, laughter, hugs, making you feel loved and heard, friendships, unwavering support, and dedication to her community.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, adventures with her husband Bo, cooking, and loving on every dog possible. Raising her daughters, she loved taking them on trips to the library, having dance parties in the living room, and sewing them clothes and costumes. Kathleen was a devoted fan to the Cincinnati Bengals, and loved watching her favorite movie the Wizard of Oz. She served many years in a variety of volunteer roles, including, ombudsman for the United States Navy, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) board member and team, classroom, and Girl Scout troop mom. She was the current President VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Auxiliary, Post 8255, and Senior Vice VFW Auxiliary District 6; she was proud to support US military veterans.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Olan “Bo” Peters, daughters Kelly Boyd and Elizabeth Rogers, son-in-law Keith Boyd, and grandchildren Kendall, Tyler, and Makenzie Boyd who will miss her forever. Stepsons Eric, Jason (Jenny), and Jesse (Madeline), Peters and grandchildren Dyson, Mason, Noah, Addy, Kylie, Ava, and Beckham. Brothers Jim (Mary), Dave (Connie, sister-in-law & lifelong friend), Mike, and sister Shelly Kelso. Nephews and nieces, Davey, Josh, Tasha, Cruiz, Lorna, Tina, and Doug.
In remembrance of Kathleen, a memorial service will be held at VFW Post 8255, 2296 Aster Ave, Middleburg, Florida on November 16th at 2pm and is open to all family and friends. A reception is to follow.
A private memorial will be held at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Ricardo Hanel, Dr. Jharna Shah, and team at Lyerly Neurosurgery, the teams at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital - Bartram Campus, and Community Hospice & Palliative Care - Alice & T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring for their dedicated and compassionate care of Kathleen and her family.
