Kathleen Ann Shannon Williams

Mrs. Kathleen Ann Shannon Williams, age 78, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.  She was born November 22, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas to the late John Wilson Shannon and Norma Ruth Shannon.    She graduated from Brazosport High School in 1958.  In 1965 she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Williams, and began traveling the world as a Navy Wife with duty stops in California, Hawaii, Texas, and Florida.  Kathleen worked for the Gate Petroleum Corporation in Jacksonville for 20 years, retiring as an Office Supervisor in 2006.  Kathleen’s passion was making the world a better place for people with developmental disabilities. Her legacy can be seen in the amazing work being done through Challenge Enterprises.  The highlight of her year was volunteering for the Annual Newman’s Own Challenge Golf Classic which raises money for Challenge Enterprises’ Residential Programs. 

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Charles Williams; sons, Michael Williams and Stephen Williams; daughter, Kimberly Williams; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:30 at The Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
