Kevin Paul Regula
November 13, 1958 - July 14, 2019
Kevin Paul Regula was born in Bay Shore, NY to Vitol H. and Dorothy S. Regula on November 13, 1958. As an only child Kevin grew up in a close-knit Polish community in New York City and eventually his family moved to a home on Long Island in East Islip, NY. Following his high school graduation Kevin pursued a degree in Aviation at Dowling College, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree he then joined the Navy and became a Pilot/Flight Instructor. Kevin flew T-34s (his favorite), P3s, and C130s and loved being a pilot. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. Once retired he spent the next 10 years working for a contractor for NASA as an Aerospace Engineer at Kennedy Space Center. It was a very exciting time in his life and also a very heartbreaking time with the loss of the Columbia Crew.
Kevin is survived by his three children - Christina Harvey and her husband Parker who are expecting their first child in September (Reid Elizabeth Harvey); Maria Regula who will be graduating from Nursing school in August; and "KJ" Regula who just recently graduated from FSU Suma Cum Laude. He was preceded in death by his parents.
